So, you have site and you decided to optimize it for search engines. It’s great. So, let’s look how search engine systems work first.

Search engine spider finds your site on the Internet, then downloads it in cache and stores in its database. When the user enters keywords in search field, search engine looks at its cache and provide list of websites that the most relevant to the request. Everything is simple at first glance, but it’s much more difficult. The main question is how search engine sorts search results. There are a lot of search engines over the web and each of them has its own algorithm that nobody knows. To solve this algorithm is the main task of SEO specialist. Algorithms of search engines are kept in strict confidence, however main idea is still there.

Here are main and most important factors of success optimization for any search engine:

1. Website content

This is start point. You should have unique and interesting content on your site, to make people read it, bookmark it and share it to other people. Website content should be permanently updated with fresh articles and new pages. Also, pages should be well linked to each other inside your site, to make users open and read as much as possible pages from your resource.

2. Website authority

When user searches for the keyword on the Internet, million pages contain this keyword. To provide user with the best and good information on first positions of search results, search engine analyze authority of websites. What is “authority” and how to increase it? Good question. Each search engine has its own definition. But all of them look at the quantity and quality of other sites, linked to your resource. And more authoritative external websites bring more value to authority of your website. Links from sites with bad reputation may decrease authority or even put it in black list. So be aware of bad resources.

So content and authority are two main factors for successful search optimization.
