Another great collaboration with SMS group!

SMS group is a global, leading partner for the metal industry. It is a family-owned business headquartered in Germany. Fast and flexible, SMS group develop individual and modular solutions – whether it’s the design of a new plant, Modernization, Digitalization, or Life Cycle Services.

This time, SMS group’s R&D department came up with the idea of creating a Mixed Reality platform, which basically will act as a tool for effective training and professional education of the shop-floor personnel.

Our goal

The purpose of the product is to facilitate the training process of technical maintenance team. Using a variety of a machine segment’s 3D models, the process of education becomes more efficient and engaging.

Solution

Together with SMS group we created Mixed Reality platform for professional education of shop floor service personnel. The following list of features are available within the app:

  • actual measuring data (links)
  • selected segment (3D-model)
  • annotation for selected error
  • “to do” list for service personnel
  • docu & wiki

Our team collaborated closely with the engineers from SMS Group to bring our expertise and best practices together and create a product that will serve the service support engineers in the best possible way.

We used Plotly graphing library to create interactive, high-quality graphs. Stable and efficient application’s performance is ensured by a secure stack of reliable and proven technologies.

Result

AR-Lab platform was successfully presented at METEC 2019 trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany. The platform got a lot of attention from the fair’s attendances. SMS group plans to use the platform as a tool for effective training for their customer.
